Meet The Team

Meet the Kenilworth Vets Team!

Hello, we’re Matt and Anira – veterinary surgeons and the proud founders of Kenilworth Vets. We have both long held the dream of opening our own independent veterinary practice and being at the heart of a local community of pet owners. We can’t wait to welcome you and your pets through our doors.

Meet the team below!

Anira

Veterinary Surgeon

I’ve wanted to be a vet for as long as I can remember, and I’ve now been living that dream for over 20 years. I qualified in South Africa in 2001 and worked there for a year before moving to the UK.
I’ve worked in a wide range of practices across the Midlands from charity clinics to emergency centres. My true passion lies in the operating theatre and I hold an extra qualification in small animal surgery. Outside of work, I’m a mum of two boys, who you will no doubt see around the practice! We also have a gorgeous (lazy) cat called Peach. I can’t wait to meet you and all your lovely pets!

Matt

Veterinary Surgeon

My passion is finding practical veterinary care solutions for people and their pets that work for their individual circumstances, especially if it involves thinking outside the box a little!

I particularly enjoy heart cases and adding happy years to pets’ lives. I qualified in 2011 and have spent most of my career in and around the Birmingham area. My last two years have been spent driving all over the country advising and teaching vets in practice. I also guest lecture at Nottingham Vet School and assess vets undertaking further study. I am excited to return to Kenilworth, having previously had the privilege of learning from heart specialist Mike Martin at his practice some years ago, and very much look forward to meeting your pets.

Toni

Head Veterinary Nurse

I trained to be a veterinary nurse a little later than most, first pursuing a degree in English and then travelling the world, but I’ve always loved animals from the moment I was old enough to look after my first pet hamster!

I’ve kept lizards, rescued guinea pigs, raised pigeons, bred snails, dove with Manta rays the size of dinner tables and spent days observing humpback whales!  No matter what the size, scales, fur or feathers I’ve always respected and loved animals. I’ve always thought animals as pets are the ultimate luxury, they never asked to be ours; so they deserve the very best lives we can give them, and I look forward to giving them the very best care I can as their veterinary nurse.

Vicky

Veterinary Nurse

I have been a qualified and registered veterinary nurse since 2004. I have always wanted to look after animals ever since I was a little girl. I am looking forward to getting to look after all the lovely pets of Kenilworth!

My favourite place is to be in the operating theatre as I have a keen interest in anaesthesia and theatre practice. I do also enjoy seeing everyone’s animals for nurse appointments and healthcheck-ups. I live at home with my young family and 2 working police dogs. Bourbon our cocker spaniel and Effie our springer spaniel. I am a bit of a bookworm and enjoy leisure time at the gym.

Jess

Veterinary Nurse

I have wanted to be a veterinary nurse ever since I was a little girl. I have been qualified since 2021 and I am passionate about advocating for my patients. I have a keen interest in neonatal care and i regularly hand rear kittens.

I also have a soft spot for the older patients, trying to make their stay as comfortable as possible. I have two rescue dogs, Koda & Mabel as well 5 guinea pigs. Plus there is always at least a couple of tiny kittens hanging around too! I look forward to meeting all of your lovely pets!
